I saw another old pic/character of mine that wanted to be re-visited. Mael is a dark paladin, that is, he worships the gods of death. He is somewhere between a witch a priest and a knight. The familliar is neither crow nor hawk, nor even a bird. Just a generic black shape with all the attributes it thinks to be threatening.

Oh, btw I am totally inspired by warhammer/warcraft art at the moment.

Your attention to detail without getting lost in overembellishment makes for a stunning character with a as much feel as look. I think you have achieved with this a level that is hard to reach. The level of emotion while emotionless is profound. On a technical side, I especially like the way you created the armor. Bulk with style, ornamentation with effectiveness, and for WITH function.

He is one seriously imposing dude.

The armor is fantastic - I really like that it's worn and dull and looks rather dingy (it is reminiscent of the rags they used to wrap the dead in). And those are some amazing blades. Also, the color scheme is very appropriate for a warrior of the gods of death: bleak, lifeless and intense in a barren sort of way. And the details of his face are great; the deathlike pallor really represents one who wishes to emulate his funereal deities.

Wow!! I love how detailed you made this-from all the designs in the armor all the way down to the scratches in the blade, it's all incredible. I like how his hair and cloak move with the wind-they give him an even greater sense of power.
